Randy V. Heysek, M.D.

Dr. Heysek is a radiation oncologist, a doctor who specializes in radiation treatment of cancers.

Dr. Heysek received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1980, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa in Bio-chemistry with distinction. He graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1984.

Dr. Heysek completed his internship at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis at the University of Tennessee and his residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland Cancer Center at Baltimore in 1988.

He is Board Certified in Radiation Oncology and has practiced in Lakeland since July 1988. He was Chief of Staff at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in 1996, and has also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and as President for the Polk County Medical Association.

Dr. Heysek also served as a Board Member of the Lakeland Chapter of the American Cancer Society, and in May of 2000, was inducted into the American College of Radiation Oncology as a Fellow.

Dr. Heysek specializes in the treatment of prostate cancer and has per for med over 1,000 radioactive seed implants since 1996. He has received training for prostate seed implants at the Northwest Prostate Institute in Seattle, Washington by Dr . J. Blasko, and also at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa. Dr. Heysek also serves as consultant to the nationally recognized Moffitt Cancer Center with his expertise in prostate seed implantation and worked as their principal prostate seed Radiologic Surgeon. He is also on the board of directors for the Florida Prostate Institute.

Dr. Heysek is executive director of the Center for Cancer Care & Research.
